So ive just finished university and now i have all this free time on my hands. So with all this free time, i am of course just mulling about on the internet. Then i remembered that Steve said that when he googled my name, my twitter account came up. So i decided to google myself to see...and of course Steve was right, there was a link to my Twitter page but also alongside 3 other links that were related to me!
One was just a link to someone elses twitter page that happen to have me as a friend, the other a link to my old blog, which i should probably make private and then the third one was the one that made me laugh. It was a link to a bbc petition which i had e-signed in 2007. A petition to keep Neighbours (the tv soap) on the BBC. I worry about myself - i clearly have always had too much free time!

It's surprising...
...how much it actually hurts to be told that your dog may have to be put down. I know im quite a sensitive and emotional person but i honestly thought that id be able to deal and move on. Ive just found out that its not that easy. I just keep thinking how unfair it is for Perry, to just be taken to the vets and then oh thats it, and know nothing about any of it.
And to be honest it will be weird not having him around. I know he'll die someday but for that day to be because of a deliberate action, seems just unfair.
It just sucks.

Teenagers
Im currently writing a media essay about youth subculture so i thought id share with this piece of information as i found it interesting.
It is important to know where youth culture itself came from, before looking at its subcultures. The dawning of the teenager in the 1950s came about because there was no stage in between being a child and becoming an adult so young people were seen as children until they began work. This process worked fine before the 1950s but after the war there was what was known as the baby boomer period with a high percentage of youth existing, due to the fact that family life had become more stable. It was at this time that the economy became stronger also and with mass production coming into play, post war affluence soon settled in. This affluence majorly affected the youth of that time, which now had access to disposable incomes and increased leisurely time. It was from this that consumer industries noticed a gap in the market and thus the teenager was created as this age group began to be targeted as a prime consumer group.
So yeh, thats why teenagers now exist - because of advertising companys! :P

Love
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth, "You owe me."
Look what happens with a Love like that!
—It lights the whole Sky. (Hafiz)

What's your secret?

Postsecret is a website i check every Sunday. It is an ongoing collection of postcards sent in by people around the world to a guy named Frank. It is an artistic project and one of the most successful blogging projects. This guy Frank recieves tons of postcards each week and every Sunday he selects a few to put on the blog for everyone to read. The postcards contain secrets.
I like reading each and every postcard put on this blog because it gives me faith in humanity, that people do care and that people struggle with the exact same things i struggle with. It helps me to feel less alone and apart from this world. I also love the reactions i have to some postcards, these reactions challenge me, they help me to become less judgemental and more accepting. I believe this site is a brilliant idea and it helps people across the world, its also very entertaining at times.
So yeh, just thought id share and hopefully you'll add it to the list of websites you regularly check out.

Time to talk about the good things in life.
So a new blog begins...
Mainly because i wanted to become a follower of Steves blog (mypapervolcanohasnodietarypreference.blogspot.com) but also because i didnt want to use my account name that has a depressing and mainly private blog in it.
This shall be different, whether it lasts is another matter, but whilst it does i shall try to be entirely positive.
